I am participating in the third annual Iowa Walk for Lupus Now because my family & countless other families have been affected by Lupus. Please support me in raising money to support the Lupus Foundation of America, Iowa Chapter.

Their mission is to improve the diagnosis & treatment of Lupus, support those affected by the disease, increase awareness among health professionals & the public, & find the cause & a cure.

Lupus is a chronic, potentially life-threatening autoimmune disease that can damage any organ.

There are an estimated 1.5 million Americans living with Lupus.

More than 50% of Lupus patients suffer 4+ years and visit 3+ doctors before receiving a correct diagnosis.

Delayed diagnosis & treatment contribute to tissue damage leading to organ failure, disability, & death.

Based on a nationwide poll in 4/05, 2 out of 3 Americans know little to nothing about Lupus.
